The Strategy Unit, hosted by the Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit, is leading a research project to support and strengthen the development of 14 Multispeciality Community Provider (MCP) Vanguards .

The project will analyse existing literature alongside the Vanguards’ own logic models to create a ‘blue print’ for evidence-based integrated models of care. Working closely with  Vanguard sites across the country, the MCP Synthesis will focus on examining four improvement areas: patient experience, staff experience, population health, and cost effectiveness.

The Strategy Unit is working in partnership with the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR), University of Sheffield; the study is funded by the Health Services and Delivery Research programme within the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).
